October Wedding Cake

This was a last minute wedding cake order. The order came in just 2 weeks ago, but I think it was pulled off nicely! The base of each tier was suppose to have a "belt" of rhinestones around it and the top was suppose to have a their initials in rhinestones, but unfortunately FedEx lost the brides order so the rhinestones never showed up. Luckily the bride found this out before the big day and was able to find this wonderful shimmer ribbon that helped the cake "pop." The flavor and fillings alternated chocolate with cheesecake and white with strawberries...yummy!

Star Wars Cupcakes

So fun to make these star wars cupcakes!

Crayon Cake

I had a cake order put in two months ago...the Mom wanted to give me lots of time to figure out a crayon cake. So I researched it a little bit, did some math on what size the crayons would need to be to look the right size coming out of the cake size they needed, and I finally decided to make some cake pops look like crayons. Over all I think it turned out pretty good! I had 3 extra crayons so Keith, Packer and I each had one....and I have to say, they weren't half bad! Last time I had a cake pop I wasn't a big fan, but these were better!

The body of the crayon was cake pop, the tip was melting chocolate.

Very Hungry Caterpillar

We had a Very Hungry Caterpillar Party at our house last week. I can't believe we are already celebrating this little guy's First Birthday! Oh how time flies.

It's a Boy

Cupcake order for a Baby Shower. I think they turned out so cute!

Pink and Brown Birthday

I had a Mom order a pink and brown birthday cake for her little girl's first birthday. I love how the bow and stars make the top of the cake "pop"!

Cupcakes for a Cause

A few weeks ago my sister's friend lost her little boy to cancer. To help this friend pay for funeral costs, my sister held a bake sale where all money donated went to this family. So I made some yummy and fun looking cupcakes to add to the sale items. The sunflowers were made of oreos (super cute and super fast!) The chocolate fountains were made with melting chocolates and had a peanut butter filling. Over all the bake sale was able to raise $500.00 for this family in need!

Packer's Pirate Party

Here are some pictures of the Pirate cake I did for my son.  He LOVED it!  I think the party and the cake turned out great!

Hula Girl

I love how this hula girl turned out. So cute. Very last minute they decided they needed to feed more than they originally thought so we added the matching 6inch cake. I hope the Birthday Girl was happy!

Next cake up for order is my own son's cake. I can't believe he is going to be three! His party is this weekend and should be a pirate-y good time :)

Second Castle Cake

I had a request for another castle cake. Girls seem to LOVE this cake. Luckily I have done this cake enough to where it isn't hard to do any more...which was a blessing since I did this cake less then 3 days after my wisdom teeth removal! Because of the meds they had me on I had to keep asking my husband "Is the cake sitting level?" He would just look at me like I was crazy and say "Yes!" Also while constructing this cake my almost 3 year old son says "Mom, if I was a girl, I would want dat (that) cake!" I am in the process of planning his PIRATE party! Much better suited for a 3 year old boy :)

Blue Wedding

The Bride wanted a simple cake with blue "swirls." Her colors were every shade of blue. I loved the blue candles in the holder also. So pretty. The letter "H" for her new last name.

Toy Story Cake

I some how got behind on my blog posts (I will blame summer!) So here are some cakes I made a few weeks back. The party theme was Toy Story and they wanted 3 special cakes that looked like the Toy Story theme. I hope the Birthday Boys loved them!

Ripstik

Two days after our California vacation I had another cake order. This time they wanted the cake to look like a ripstik. Here are the final pictures of the cake. I hope the little girl was thrilled!

Aubrey's Wedding Cake

As some of you know this last week we traveled down to California for a family wedding. While there I had the privilege of making the wedding cake. The bride requested white on white...pretty and easy...not having to color fondant or anything! The florist was adamant that the flowers be real, provided, prepared and placed on the cake by her (way to go for the florist, most won't even prepare the flowers for the cake let alone put them on!) So when you look at this picture, the only work I can claim as mine is the cake itself and not the flowers!

Today's Wedding Cake

Here is the wedding cake I have been working on this weekend. I think it turned out great. The bride said it was "prettier than she dreamed!" That was a pretty good complement! She wanted cream cheese icing...it is super hard to work with compared to buttercream! It melts with too much work and isn't as easy to smooth...but over all I think it looked great. She wanted the cake VERY plain with only a little design on the middle layer. The flavors were Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese filling and French Vanilla with Raspberry Cream Cheese filling. They also ordered two sheet cakes from me to be served out of the kitchen. They were white with strawberry cream cheese filling, and red velvet with strawberry filling. Both frosted with the same cream cheese filling.

Winnie the Pooh Cake

Here is a cake I did last week. It was for a little girls first birthday party. It was Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese filling.

Unicorn Cake

This is the cake I did this last weekend. It was a unicorn and rainbow party. The inside of the cake was actual rainbow cake! The birthday girl's Mom took pictures of the cake once it was cut, and I will post those as soon as I get them. It was so fun to do the actual rainbow colored cake! This cake also had Strawberry Cream Cheese filling in it.

Scout Cakes

I was asked to make some cakes for the scouts in my church. It was the Arrow of Light ceremony. The big cake is a replica of the badge, the little cakes represent both boys who earned it. One loves football, the other reading.

Final Jungle Cake

Here are some pictures of the finished jungle cake. It turned out way good.
An up-close look at the lion with his buttercream main. Both cakes (it was for a first birthday party...the "smash cake" comes free with the big cake order.)
An up-close of the whole cake. I love the tree!

Keith was the one that was here when they picked up the cake order. I hope they were happy. Keith said they said they loved it. The reason I wasn't here is because I was at the AIM (Annual Instructor Meeting) for Wilton. I learned a lot and can't wait until these new products are out on the shelves!
Also I am thinking of doing a give away for my followers and those who share my blog link....I would make some of these jungle buddies to give away (They can be shipped after a few days of drying.) Stay tuned for that.
