Snowman at Night

I made this cake for a little girl who wanted snowman and stars...so we called it snowman at night (that is such a fun book!) It was a chocolate cake with Strawberry cream cheese filling.
It was a fun cake to do and once again, I learned a lot!

Polka Dots

For my class on Saturday I had to demo how to level, fill, and frost a cake. When I came home I decided to add a little decoration to it before we cut into. I went with the simple polka dot theme.

Topsy Turvy Strawberry Shortcake

I made this cake today for my Niece. She wanted a Strawberry Shortcake Cake and I have been wanting to make a topsy turvy cake, so I made a Topsy Turvy Strawberry Shortcake. The carving of the cake was actually pretty easy, the hard part was getting the fondant to stick on the different funky angles. Over all it looked pretty good and didn't fall over, so I think it was a success! (sorry for the blurry parts on the pictures, our camera is dieing...something we should probably fix/get done, before the new baby comes!)

Happy Birthday Alyssa

This is the cake that I made yesterday. It was for my Sister's little girl, Alyssa. She turned one yesterday, so that is the reason for the little party hat cake with the big cake. Can I just say, Chocolate fondant is 100 times better then normal fondant! So if you want a fondant cake and also want a yummy cake, pick something brown :) This cake is a 8in. and 10 in. round cake covered with fondant. This cake sales for $50.00. On all first birthday cake orders the "smashing" cake comes free with the order.

Barbie Cake

This is the Barbie cake I made for my nieces 4th birthday. It was so fun to make for her, and once again I learned a lot! The dress is fondant, the drop flowers are royal icing, and everything is stuck together with butter cream. The cake underneath is strawberry (of course.) I think I will be dreaming in shades of pink tonight! Because royal icing is so flammable (learned that the hard way!) I made another small cake, covered in pink fondant, just big enough for 4 candles and the words "happy birthday." I took pictures but they were blurry and it isn't too exciting so I left it off the blog.
Barbie Cake Prices: If you provide the Barbie or want a stick Barbie (a Barbie without legs, that would have to be returned to me later) the cost is $20
If I provide the Barbie (you keep the Barbie) the cost is $30
* Please note that due to the shape of this cake, this cake doesn't come with a filling.

Barbie Cake

This weekend I will be making a Barbie cake for my niece who is turning 4. It will be a real Barbie and the skirt is cake. I have high hopes for it turning out really cute! This cake will be extra special because last year we didn't know if this little girl would make it to her 4th birthday. We are all so thankful for the good Doctors at Primary Children's, and the right chemotherapy that has allowed this little girl live to be 4 and want a Barbie cake!
I am off to make the fondant...stay tuned for some cute Barbie cake ideas!

Duck Cake

This duck cake was a trial run for my son's Birthday. I had bought the pan and was nervous about the way it worked, so I decided to bake a cake before hand to double check the pans abilities. Well the pan worked great, so I decided to make up a little frosting and "play". As you can tell I ran our of frosting and didn't feel like making more since this was just a trial run. Even though I ran out of frosting I hope you can see how cute this little guy would be finished!

My Little Pony

This was a My Little Pony Party. It was a Strawberry Cake with strawberry cream cheese filling.

A Princess Party

I made this cake for my two nieces who were born within 24 hours of each other. They turned six and wanted a princess party. At the party they got their hair, make-up, and nails done.

An up close of the princess castle cake. I loved creating this castle because I knew the memories it would make for these girls! It was a vanilla cake with strawberry cream cheese filling.
